About Me
I took my first ikebana lesson when I was in college, and have been fascinated by it ever since. I started teaching Sogetsu ikebana in 2007, and now hold Sogetsu's Somu (1st) degree, with the flower name: Kiisei.
For years, I have served as board member in Sogetsu San Jose-South Bay Branch, now Deputy Director, and I.I. San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, now Exhibition Chair.
I have demonstrated and/or exhibited arrangements in Sogetsu flower shows, Ikebana International San Francisco Bay Area flower shows, San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival flower shows, I.I. Sacramento Chapter, Filoli Historic House & Garden, Triton Museum in Santa Clara, Asian Art museum in San Francisco, Bouquets to Art in San Francisco De Young museum, and many other venues.
Teaching ikebana enriches my life in many ways, not limited to in-person but also virtual lessons. I enjoy traveling, visiting art museums, movies, and photography.
